This websites discloses the fruit of my prayers concerning "the woman question" and "the new creation" in Christ.
Hi! Le me introduce myself. My name is Alessandra. Born in 1966. I earned a Master's Degree in Philosophy of Language and a PhD in Philosophy of Science. I've decided to publish my thoughts on the Bible online. Or better: I decided to publish the end product of all my crying because, well, when the poor cry out, you know, the LORD hears them. Stop. Rewind. I've missed something there. Let's play the director's cut.
All right, here we are. The first thing I wish to tell you is that there was a moment in my life when, uhmm, I fell ill.
Yes, I said that - I fell ill. It had to do with a gender issue, to be honest.
At that time – I'm talking about the 90s – women were consistently rated as second best, and things happend to me that I sought refuge in God and started praying. I prayed and prayed. I practiced Yoga and meditation with Jesus in my heart. Eventually, I was left with God and the Bible. Yoga and meditation call for discipline and self-awareness. But I had left any. Your heart's cry is, on the contrary, more than enough for God. That's how I started reading the Bible.
The more I prayed, the more I had to read it, and the more I read it, the deepest and darkest my crying – Why, LORD, why? Why does your Word openly discriminate against women too? In short, it was like an a ear worm.
Good. It's all set now: the aim of this website is to share the answer to that crying. But there is more. Let me ask you something: «Do you believe the universe was created in seven days?».
Uhmm, I see a look of puzzlement on your face. Your jaw dropped. Your mouth open. Your voice going weak.
Do not worry, I tell you, do not worry. I do not believe it either. We agree on that. Genesis is a symbolic book. It has to be read in Spirit and Truth. It's not to be taken litterally. Genesis is neither historical narrative nor scientific writing. Can you see good old Darwin now? How he gently caresses his beard in contentment appreciating how much the evolution of species and the Bible might well agree with each other?
Excellent. It's the three of us.
"Let anyone who is thirsty come to me and drink" (Jn 7: 37)
